Farmer Yang Ly has started harvesting the sweet cucumbers and yellow watermelons grown in the community in Trapaing Thanal and Ta Traw villages, Kanhal commune, Prasat Bakong district, Siem Reap province.
The ASPIRE (Agricultural Technology Promotion and Resilience) team visited Yang Ly, a member of the Ta Traw Trapaing Thanal Safe Vegetable Business Group, located in Trapaing Thanal and Ta Traw villages, Kanhal commune.
According to the Ashe project, farmer Yang Ly harvested his first 120 kg of sweet melons, selling for 3,500 riel/kg, and harvested his first 250 kg of yellow melons, planted on an area of 500 square meters, at 2,000 riel/kg. The farmer sells them to the Siem Reap Meanchey sweet melon community, where traders collect and deliver them to his home. The yellow melons and sweet melons above may be harvested next week or at the end of this month.
