Nuon Pharath, Governor of Kampong Thom Province, urged city, district and professional authorities to work hard to implement the Royal Government’s safe village and commune policy effectively and to continue to prevent and combat natural resource crimes with high responsibility.
This encouragement by the provincial governor was made at the monthly meeting of the Kampong Thom Provincial Administrative on February 11, 2025, at the Kampong Thom Provincial Hall.
The provincial governor thanked the three armed forces and related institutions for their good cooperation in preventing natural resource crimes, drug crimes, gangs, and all types of gambling, especially the light command forces stationed in the lowland areas of Zone 3 in Kampong Thom province. There have been no new encroachments, and good results have been achieved.
He stated that Samdech President Hun Manet has defined the management boundaries of the lowland areas, Zone 2 under the control of provincial authorities, and Zone 3 under the control of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, and Zone 2 and Zone 3 are currently free of encroachments.
At the same time, Pharath also took measures to manage the drought by prohibiting residents from continuing to cultivate dry rice fields and preserving water for people and animals for daily use. He also requested the district governor continue to engage with residents to listen to their requests and challenges and find solutions for them in a timely manner.
In this meeting, security and order, agricultural work, health work, and education, youth, and sports work are the main topics for this month’s unified command meeting of the Kampong Thom provincial administration.
