The CLESIDRA project in Ratanakiri, Cambodia, has achieved an important milestone by officially selecting representatives and committees to lead the PLASED Platform. This follows a successful workshop focused on enhancing the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in value chain development.
The PLASED Platform is a critical component of the project’s long-term vision, serving as a permanent coordination body that fosters collaboration among civil society, producer groups, service providers, and local authorities. Its main objective is to enhance the competitiveness, sustainability, and inclusiveness of the region’s four priority economic sectors: rice, cassava, cashew nuts, and eco-tourism.

The newly established committees function as a diverse coalition aimed at promoting inclusive growth across the province. By incorporating a wide range of stakeholders—including representatives from the government, local authorities, primary producers from key value chains such as rice, cassava, cashew nuts, and tourism, as well as active members from civil society organizations—these committees are designed to enhance collaboration and representation.
Furthermore, the involvement of economic actors, such as social service providers and local business representatives, supports the growth of local value chains. This inclusive approach ensures that the coalition remains responsive to the genuine needs and priorities of the communities it serves, promoting sustainable development and shared prosperity.

The establishment of the PLASED committees marks a crucial shift from planning to actual implementation. With governance structures now firmly in place, the platform is well-positioned to facilitate coordinated action among stakeholders, enabling them to collaboratively address socio-economic challenges and explore new avenues for development.
This initiative will not only encourage teamwork and shared decision-making but will also play a vital role in advancing sustainable and inclusive economic growth throughout Ratanakiri Province. By bringing together diverse perspectives and resources, the PLASED Platform aims to create a more resilient and prosperous future for the community.
As we move forward with the CLESIDRA project, it is essential for all partners and community members to stay engaged. The newly established committees are set to begin significant work, and their leadership will be crucial in guiding development efforts. By fostering a participatory approach, we can ensure these initiatives have a meaningful impact and reflect the local community’s needs and aspirations. Let’s work together to create a sustainable and inclusive future.
