From 25 to 26 March 2025, Ratanakiri took a significant step towards sustainable development with a high-level workshop focused on strengthening four vital value chains: cassava, rice, cashew nuts, and eco-tourism. Organised by Building Community Voices (BCV) in partnership with Urban Poor Women Development (UPWD), the event facilitated multi-sectoral dialogue aimed at boosting regional economic resilience.

Approximately 75 representatives from provincial Departments of Agriculture and Tourism, the One Window Service Office, local government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector stakeholders actively participated. Facilitated by Mr. Vincenzo Milio, Executive Director of ILS LEDA, attendees pinpointed key bottlenecks impacting local producers and operators, collecting vital input to create a practical and inclusive strategic roadmap.
This initiative is part of the wider CLESIDRA project, which focuses on inclusive social and economic development. Supported by the European Union, CLESIDRA aims to ensure that smallholder farmers, women, and indigenous communities benefit from modernising value chains.
The workshop’s insights will shape future policies and community initiatives, synchronising efforts between government, NGOs, and the private sector. This unified approach enhances Ratanakiri’s main agricultural and tourism products to compete more effectively both locally and internationally.

Through these strategic actions, Ratanakiri is not only promoting economic growth but also building long-term prosperity and resilience for its people. This milestone highlights a shared commitment to inclusive development, ensuring a brighter future for the region.
