Building Community Voices (BCV) has achieved a significant milestone in the implementation of the CLESIDRA project by organizing a high-level online coordination meeting with both international and local partners. The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration for sustainable development in Ratanakiri Province.

The virtual meeting, which took place on February 24, 2026, brought together representatives from various partner organizations, including UPWD, FELCOS Umbria, and ILS LEDA. Funded by the European Union, this initiative seeks to promote inclusive economic growth through coordinated regional efforts and strategic partnerships.
The central focus of the recent meeting was the establishment of the Platform for Socio-Economic Development in Ratanakiri Province (PLASED), which is envisioned as a key coordination mechanism aimed at aligning development initiatives, enhancing cooperation among stakeholders, and maximizing impact across the province.
During the discussions, participants identified priority sectors critical to Ratanakiri’s economic development, including the strengthening of agricultural value chains to improve productivity and market potential for key crops such as rice, cassava, and cashew nuts. Additionally, there was a strong emphasis on promoting eco-tourism development through sustainable tourism models that not only preserve natural resources but also generate local income.

Expanding market access for smallholder farmers and local entrepreneurs was highlighted as another vital strategy to connect them with wider markets, ultimately fostering economic growth in the region.
The meeting reaffirmed partners’ shared commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable development. By reinforcing collaboration under the CLESIDRA project, stakeholders aim to build long-term economic resilience and empower local communities through capacity development and coordinated action.
A BCV representative emphasized the significance of this engagement, stating that the discussion “strengthened our mutual dedication to fostering inclusive local economic growth, enhancing capacities, and supporting long-term sustainability.”
BCV expressed its appreciation to the European Union and all partner organizations for their continued support and active participation. This strengthened partnership is expected to play a vital role in driving forward development initiatives that are both inclusive and sustainable for the people of Ratanakiri. Through ongoing collaboration and strategic coordination, the CLESIDRA project continues to lay the foundation for a more resilient and prosperous future in the province.
